Challenge
A large Midwestern utility serving gas transmission and distribution operations sought to modernize its work and asset management capabilities. The organization needed to implement an Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) solution that could support long-cycle work management across multiple operating companies and business units.
The objective was to replace fragmented processes with a single, scalable, and configurable platform that would improve work visibility, support regulatory compliance, and enhance operational efficiency. Achieving this required not only new technology, but also coordinated change management, system integration, and alignment across business and technical teams.
Solution
A modern EAM platform was implemented to support long-cycle work management across gas transmission and distribution operations. The solution was designed as a unified, flexible system capable of supporting standardized processes while remaining configurable to meet operational needs.
An Agile delivery model was used to guide implementation. Scrum Masters and project managers facilitated program increment planning, developed user stories, and oversaw iterative design, build, and testing cycles. Incremental demonstrations ensured continuous alignment with business users and allowed the solution to evolve based on real operational feedback.
In parallel, a new GIS architecture based on a utility network model was delivered to support asset data and spatial operations. Oversight was provided for system integration activities, including development, testing, and deployment, ensuring that both the EAM and GIS platforms were aligned and operationally integrated.
Services Delivered
